Your Glasses are WHERE????

Ok, so by the end of last school year I noticed that Piper had not been wearing her glasses. I asked where they were, and I was sure she had lost them. She had assured me that she had not lost them, but left them on her desk and now they were gone... Yeah... right.
Now look who is eating crow.
A couple of days ago Piper was cleaning up the backyard... yep the poop. What did she find? Well in one pile, she found the
sides, in another pile she found the front, and the last pile she found the lenses. WHOLE. That dog ate them whole. Boy, I wonder how well they came out? Let's hope Cooper has learned his lesson. As a joke I think we should tell Piper that she will need to clean them off and we can get them fixed.

Happy Birthday Piper Anne!!

She's 12 years old...I don't know where the time has gone. It seems like only yesterday I was asking my Doctor if when would be done (delivering) by 10pm because ER was on that night. Needless to say, I missed ER but the trade off was certainly worth it. That evening I had a 9 lb 15 oz baby girl and now I have a 5 ft 4 in young lady. Yes.. she is taller than me.

Piper, you are a beautiful young lady and everyday it amazes me how grown up you are. I love the fact you always stick up for the underdog. I love that you are the social butterfly and you have such a great sense of humor. Happy Birthday... I hope you have a wonderful time.

What happened to this little girl??

Top 5 Reasons why Bald is beautiful

Well it is official... I am a cue ball and have been for about 4 weeks. To celebrate my new look here are the top 5 reasons why bald is beautiful (OK I know it is supposed to be the top ten, but I wasn't creative enough)

5. I don't need to buy and hair products what so ever. A little bar soap and I am good. Think of the Savings!

4. No hair in the drains. I can't tell you how happy that makes Shane.

3. I can get ready for the day faster that a speeding bullet. I have even made it to Church on time and in a "non-rushed" good mood.

2. I am streamlined in the water. Watch out Michael Phelps I could totally win. (Maybe not... but I heard his grandma swims)

And the number 1 reason "Bald is beautiful"....

1. It opens up so many more options for Halloween.. Uncle Fester, Kojak, a bowling ball.

Vacation....2008

Had a great time! Southern California. Disneyland, Legoland, Seaworld, Universal Studios, Fun in the SUN!! Here are some photos...

Dane and Zoey at Seatac waiting for our flight. Flew Virgin airlines, and I have to say they were great. Would recommend and will fly again.

The kids in Toon Town with Claribell the clown. (Goofy's ex-girlfriend)
Question for the day.. What is Goofy?

Dane at Legoland in a battle with Darthvader. Legoland was amazing. The Las Vegas strip, New York, Mt. Rushmore, The Hollywood Bowl all made out of Legos. They also had a full size Volvo made from Legos. Dane was in Heaven. He wants to be a "Lego builder" when he grows up.

New York, New York casino and the Hollywood Bowl.

The Lego family... and check out the parking lot. EMPTY!!

Universal Studios.. Help Jaws is eating my Dad!! The rides were a blast.. Jurrasic Park, The Mummy, The Simpsons. Loved the Backlot tour!!

Seaworld....

California Adventure has a new ride. Toy Story.. an interactive, 3D, shooting gallery, talk about fun. And the best news my kids are roller coaster lovers. They went on Califonia Screamin' 8 times! I love going to Disneyland in Sept. NO LINES!!

Cancer Sucks!!

Recently... June 08.. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I had a Lumpectomy in early July and went through Mammo-site radiation the end of July. I have had no problems and really even now, not having any problems. I will start Chemo mid September and that is where the problem lies. ANTICIPATION!! I think I have decided on which therapy to do (Adriamycin/Cytoxan/Taxotere) because everything I have read... I think this will be best. But oh, when you read about the side effects, I would rather have someone punch me in the nose every day for a year, that do all this.
I know I need to remember that everyone is different and I may have 1 or 12 or none of the side effects. A good friend (who just went through) the same thing told me for her it was like having a hang-over everyday. I wonder what kind.... The "I have 3 beers and one shot of tequila" or the "after 10 long islands, and a couple of shots, I was doing WHAT??!??"
But thinking and waiting for what is to come sucks!! anticipation.

I feel like I am 7 again going off the high dive and getting up there and saying "Never mind, I don't want to" Well (this) I really don't want to. Which of course I know I must do to ensure life and, I know I will get through this because I am not the only one going through it. There are thousands of women (and some men) that are and have been in exactly the same place I am. So if you find your self here, reading my incoherent whining. Send a positive thought and or prayer my way. Thank you.

If you care to find me, look to the western sky......

I love Wicked and cannot get enough of it. I must listen to the soundtrack at least 3-4 times a week. In May, a good friend and I took my 2 daughters to see the musical at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. What a great weekend we had. All we told the girls, is that they were having a girl's weekend in Seattle. We drove to Seattle and directly to the airport. Even then, they did not catch on. Piper kept commenting about all the planes but never asked why we were there. Funny.
Finally, when we parked, the light-bulb turned on. They loved their first flights, Zoey, being a roller-coaster lover, upon take off, threw her hands up in the air and shouted "WWEEEEEE". That's my girl.
I think we packed as much as you can do into one weekend. Took a tour through the "Hollyhock House" built by Frank Lloyd Wright and I have to say it was extremely interesting. Educational event...check. Had lunch at the Ivy and saw Jennifer Love Hewitt and Zsa Zsa's husband. Celeb spotting... check. Walked down the walk of fame and saw the Chinese Theater. Where upon finding Johnny Depp's hands and feet in cement, Piper almost started crying. Crazy Tween. Tourist activity...check. and of course Shopping....CHECK!!

That evening we went to the musical, and I have to say it was amazing! The sets, the performers, and we all new we would love the music! At different times both of the girls leaned over and told me that they were so excited to be there, they started to cry a little. And.. I must admit, I almost did too. I love having the special experiences with my kids, ones that will last in our memories for-ever!
Being a mom is so cool. Afterwards, they both picked out a gift at the gift shop and what do they pick... snow globes, one Glenda (plays popular) and Elfaba (plays defying gravity).

Funny story coming home, on the plane, on which we checked NO baggage.....What you ask is in a snow globe? Yeah, liquid and a little more than 3 oz. So after getting through all the check points at LAX (which by the way was a little more crazy that Seattle) We had to start all over and check the globes. Luckily, I found a nice man who must have seen the look of sheer panic on my face and personally took and checked the bag and took me back to the security point, I had just left. Only maybe a 15 minute delay! He was great.

It was such a special weekend, and I love the fact that my girls are excited about the theater as I am. Hopefully, we will be able to little trips like these for a long time to come.
